I don't get sick very often (thank goodness - this last week or so has been awful!) but when I do, it totally wreaks havoc on my skin. My skin can be dry, blotchy, irritated or some terrible combination of all three, and I find myself reaching for a few trusty products to save the day.
TATCHA GENTLE RICE ENZYME POWDER*
Sick skin always needs a good cleanse, and I was reaching for this powder exfoliant from Tatcha most nights. What I love about this one is that it is gentle enough for daily use, but oh so effective when my skin is feeling clogged and irritated.
BELIF FIRST AID ANTI-HANGOVER SOOTHING MASK*
A box of tissues was my best friend, and my nose is still recovering. Not only that, but my skin seemed particularly inflamed by something, and this jelly-like mask solved all my issues overnight. The dry nose and irritated skin was gone! (Well, until suffering through a day of being sick ruined it again, lol.) My husband even enjoyed this one!
ILIA BALMY NIGHTS LIP EXFOLIATOR
I have dry lips year round, but a cold in winter just about kills me. Plus, I have a terrible habit of wanting to pick off any flakiness... so ILIA is here to save the day! I love love love this lip scrub in a tube because I can apply it like a lip balm and rinse it off in any restroom. No dipping fingers into tubs (yay!) and in a pinch, I could wipe it off with a tissue. Why don't more brands do this??!?
MALIN + GOETZ LIP MOISTURIZER
And last but not least, dry lips + cold = a lip balm needed that isn't in a pot. This affordable option from Malin + Goetz has been really effective for me, and quickly making its way to my top lip balm list.
How do you keep your skin looking and feeling normal when you're under the weather? I'd love to know!
