I'm wholeheartedly a foundation stick girl. It may not be for everyone, but I'm not a morning person and I love foundation sticks to save me when I'm running late and need a little something on my face. There weren't always so many options, but it seems that brands are jumping on the foundation stick bandwagon again. Read on for a closer look at the four foundation sticks that are currently in my collection!
First off, I'll start with the two green beauty picks in my stash. I bought them online and neither shade are quite what I was hoping for.
I picked up the Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Luminous Foundation in Shade 125, and I find it to be more pink toned than I prefer. Formula wise, it has light coverage and is not difficult to blend. I will note that it has an herbal scent, and while it is not bothersome to me (shocker!), it does linger for the first 30 minutes or so that you wear it.
If I had to choose between the two green options, I would go for the W3ll People Narcissist Foundation Stick. I purchased shade #5, which is an okay match for me but has more pink undertones than I would like. Formula wise, it is more creamy than the Vapour option and has slightly more coverage. I would say it is pretty close to the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation stick in general, when it comes to the feel and light-medium coverage. This one may be easier to match or return as well, since the brand is now carried at Target and Anthropologie!
If you've been following the blog, you'll know that I have been LOVING the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick over the last few months. It is SO creamy and has amazing coverage, and is just what I was hoping for in the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick and the Bobbi Brown. (Hourglass review here.)
Hourglass raves aside, the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick is a good product, and likely the easiest for people to get a hold of. It is decently creamy, has good light to medium coverage, and has so many shade options. Between all four of these foundation sticks, this one in shade #4 Natural is actually my best current color match. But, at the end of the day, I'm still wanting to reach for my Hourglass for its fantastic coverage if I'm having a bad skin day!
I'll be adding the Vapour and W3ll People sticks to my blog sale pile, since the shades just don't seem to work quite right for me at any time of year. I like the Bobbi Brown, but like I mentioned before, I'd rather have another Hourglass stick in a more winter appropriate shade. I also kind of want to try the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick again (is that crazy? review here) and there are newer releases from Anastasia, Cover FX and Makeup Forever that I'm curious about too.
How do you feel about foundation sticks? Have you tried any of these, or any of the others that have been released over the last year or so? I'd love to know! :)
