I've turned into quite the foundation addict this year, and these two foundations are my absolute favorites. Separately, both are beautiful light to medium coverage foundations, but together they are even better.
Ellis Faas Skin Veil in S104L is a foundation I've talked about before (see my review here) as my favorite foundation to date. It has a beautiful skin-like finish - I always get compliments on my skin when I wear it - and the coverage is quite good as well.
Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation is another one of those luxurious products I just can't help but love. Like the Ellis Faas, this hydrating cream foundation just leaves your skin looking beautiful. It's the perfect formula for dry or sensitive skin, in my opinion, as it offers a perfect barrier to cold weather and still holds up (for me) in warm weather as well.
My one gripe with both these foundations is that neither of them are quite the perfect match. The Ellis Faas is a great match for my winter skin, and I know the next shade up was a bit too pink for me. When it comes to the Chantecaille, I've used the shade Cream before, but I find it to be a bit light and a tad pinker in tone than I would want. I currently have the shade Shea, which is a bit dark for winter but perfect if I have a summer tan. So, after a tropical vacation this spring, while figuring out my wedding makeup, I discovered that these two foundations were the perfect combination. (Check out my wedding makeup here.)
And they still are perfection. Mixing a pump of the Ellis Faas with a bit of Chantecaille just create the perfect luminous finish foundation for fall and winter. And they're even more perfect applied with a Beautyblender. I'm in love!
What's your favorite foundation for fall/winter? Have you ever combined foundations? I'd love to know!
