I’ve always been terrible when it comes to picking favorites, but it felt right to share my most loved products of 2015. There were so many great discoveries as well as releases last year that it seems impossible to name them all, but these are the products I was really reaching for this year and would be sad to be without.
On the makeup front, I had quite a few favorites in 2015, and I managed to wear makeup way more often than previous years - yay! If you followed me on Instagram in 2015, you've probably seen most of these products several times, but these are just about all of my most used makeup products for the year.
Surratt Beauty Eyeshadow in Brun Noir & Patine
It took me a while to splurge on something from Surratt Beauty, but I'm really loving these eyeshadows. While the two shades I have, Brun Noir and Patine, are probably easily reproducible shades in brands like Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier, I absolutely LOVE the quality of these shadows. They're so finely milled, and the shimmer in them is so beautiful on the eye. I just love how they look on, and they were the perfect smoky eye for fall.
Surratt Beauty Smokey Eye Batons in Fumee Noir & Nuit Dorage
Yup, I was really feeling smoky eyes at the end of 2015, and I'm so obsessed with these. One end is a liner, and the other is a smudger that magically applies an awesome shadow that also sets the liner. It is so convenient, and the tiny packaging is easy to throw in a pocket or clutch too. I plan to stalk all the shades at some point, and also make a video featuring my smoky eye look with all of these lovely Surratt goodies.
Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Liquid Liner (Review)
I think I need to toss this one now because I've kept it for so long (years, *cringe*), but I still really love this liquid liner from Kevyn Aucoin. It is SO black, stays put even on difficult eye shapes, and SO easy to use. To be honest, I'm not sure I could even competently apply liquid liner before this one!
Chantecaille Supreme Cils Mascara
I probably should do a proper review of this mascara, but it is just AMAZING. It is clump free, so black, and makes even my lashes look HUGE (even if they're not). It comes off with warm water but is so totally smudgeproof and flake proof. I love it more than Dior mascaras and I repurchased my second tube last month!
Bobbi Brown Hot Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
I bought this one on impulse a few days before I got married last May, and I really loved it all summer. It is such a great combination of shades in a nice palette that I think I would still be totally obsessed with it if I had not fell deeply into a Surratt eye product obsession. (LOL!)
Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation
I also rediscovered my love for Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation, the only foundation I've bought in two shades just so I can always use it. (Crazy, huh?) This one is light coverage aka not for fans of medium/heavy coverage foundations, but it is SO beautiful on the skin. It's natural, perfect, and glowy! ... And I should also do a proper review of it!
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Smashed (Review)
I've loved Bite Beauty since they landed at Sephora stores a few years ago, and I think the Agave Lip Mask is such a fantastic formula. It does wonders for my perpetually dry/peeling lips, and this Smashed shade is a nice bit of tint for everyday. I lost this in the depths of my beauty & purse clutter for a while (HA, like months), but I was so relieved to find it again.
Hakuhodo J125 Eyeshadow Brush (Review)
I love this brush shape and I use it constantly. Like, pretty much every time I put on eyeshadow. I'm curious to try the Armani version in this shape and compare the two, but this has seriously been awesome.
Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder in Medium (Review)
I can't live without this. Ever. It's just the best contour powder I've tried to date!
Beautyblender (Review)
As a girl who likes foundations with the most natural looking finish possible, this sponge (when wet) is a miracle to make any foundation even more natural. And I'll use this to blend in liquid highlighters too!
Cire Trudon Dada (Review)
I need more Cire Trudon in my life. This one smells of tea and vetiver, and it is soft and lovely. <3
Tatcha Indigo Triple Soothing Recovery Cream* (Review)
There's literally nothing I don't love from Tatcha (that I've tried anyway), but this one has just been perfect for my skin, especially as it started feeling more irritated by hormones and that horrible winter thing. I think anyone with dry/irritated skin needs to try this.
Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask (Review)
I lost my little deluxe sample of this and nearly died. Then I bought a full size and also died. If I lost this one, I literally would cry. (Translation: I love wearing this as an overnight mask as it seems to soothe any skin irritation or redness. It costs a lot of money though, which is why I want to die.)
Diptyque Eau Rose (Review)
This was by far my most used and favorite perfume of the year, and it is a special one for 2015 because it is the one I wore at my wedding! I love this one so much that I've repurchased it, and it is just the perfect unique, fresh, and sexy rose scent out there.
Shu Uemura Art of Hair Cleansing Oil Shampoo* (Review) (Not Pictured)
I loved this shampoo and still cry at the thought of spending this much on a shampoo, but it smells so good and leaves my hair looking and feeling so good too. It also really helped to balance my scalp, which seems to be increasingly sensitive to different shampoos and weather conditions. I can't even begin to tell you how sad I was the day I finished it, and I definitely plan to buy it again someday.
There you have it - my most favorite things from 2015. It was a long one, so kudos to you if you made it through! Have you tried any of these products? What were your favorites from 2015? I'd love to know! :)
