I can't believe we are already halfway through July, and it has been a while since I shared any favorites posts, so, I thought I would share some things I've been loving lately - beauty or otherwise and hopefully give you a glimpse of what I've been up to!
BEAUTY:
I'll start with beauty in case you only want to hear about my beauty favorites of late. Nothing super exciting has been happening, actually. I've been wearing less makeup, trying to buy less (and mostly succeeding!), and trying to stay somewhat consistent with my skincare. Two stand out products are the Armani Eye Tints (review) and Tom Ford Patent Finish Lip Color, which is just a great long lasting glossy but not sticky formula that just feels right. <3 I have been getting some awesome stuff from brands though, and also going through my stash of products that I've not used much or reviewed, so that has been exciting too.
CREATIVE:
When I haven't been marathoning NCIS pretty much all year (yup, obsessed with all of them. I need a new show to watch - any suggestions?) or being dead from work, I've really fallen in love with planners and Project Life, and which has resulted in exploring a whole new world of papercrafting (read: a whole lot of craft related shopping, lol.)
First, The Happy Planner. I can't even. Well, maybe I can. It is just SO CUTE! And where did this planner decorating craze come from?? (Seriously, the planner videos on Youtube - no words.) At any rate, I'm planning on paper again and LOVING The Happy Planner system and their adorable accessories. (Check out their Instagram here. It's fantastic!) For Erin Condren fanatics who like to plan vertically, this is a super cute and affordable alternative, especially since you can pick one up with one of the many 40-50% off coupons at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. And I'm finding that their layout is just really working for me to separate the things I want to get done at home and for the blog.
Secondly, at the end of April after coming home from a trip, I started Project Life. If you're not familiar, Project Life is a pocket scrapbooking system that makes documenting life easy. I've always been vaguely interested in scrapbooking pretty much my whole life but never really able to commit the time to it, and I suddenly realized this would be the perfect way to make use of all the photos I'm constantly taking. I love this page I created shown above, even though I didn't decorate it! I'm obsessed with the videos from Julimakesthings and Kelly Purkey (beyond obsessed with her photography style), want basically all the stamps and supplies in the world. I even started albums for my mom and mother in law for Mother's Day!
Would you guys be interested in seeing more of my planning and scrapbooking stuff? I don't know if that would be interesting?
FITNESS/FASHION:
I'm perpetually lazy but really enjoyed Pure Barre last year, and kind of lost track of my routine over the winter. I'm trying to get back on track... with moderate success, until allergies totally murdered me the last week or two.
Anyways, I've been loving wearing the Sweaty Betty bra* I received along with their Knock Out tank top* that I received in the #RANbonusbox this past spring. The tank top is linen with mesh on the back (SO CUTE) and such a fun way to switch out my obsession with Lululemon tank tops (LOL). I honestly have been wearing it constantly, literally everywhere. I'm also excited about the sports bra, though I don't wear it that often since I'm doing such a poor job of working out... I think it does a really good job holding things in and keeps things compressed better than the other sports bras I have (mostly Lululemon). Anyway, do you guys have any tips for a fitness routine?? I'm just trying to be healthy and feel stronger, which I totally love barre for but I'm totally open to all of your recommendations too!
What have you been up to lately? Any exciting things you've been into lately? Any fun beauty products that I'm missing out on? Do share! :)
