I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with lipsticks, both the liquid and traditional variety. I love buying them, yet getting myself to wear them is a different story. Wearing proper lip color always feels like so much maintenance, and I just haven't been in the mood! This is not just my excuse for not having featured a lip product for quite a while, however, but a preface to telling you that the only lip color I've purposefully worn in the last few months (aside from picking a lip color for my wedding!) has been this one from Laura Mercier.
My first thought when I tried this formula was that these Paint Wash Lip Colors were reminiscent of the Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Creams, but with a better applicator. I think the applicator on these guys is quite easy to work with, and I particularly like that this formula is non-drying and pretty fuss-free.
My lips are quite dark and mauve in their natural state, so this neutral rose shade mutes my natural lip color and creates a great everyday neutral shade. For me, it is quite a MLBB type of shade! I also like that this formula (at least in this shade) doesn't fade for a few hours and does so subtly without any patches or weirdness.
I've been eyeing other shades of the formula but haven't landed on that one perfect shade just yet. Have you tried this formula? If so, how did you like them? What shades do you have? I'd love to know!
I've been missing out on the matte lip trend, but they just haven't been my thing. My lips are often dry, and so many products can make my lips peel that I've just stayed away, but I couldn't not try these Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayons when I had the chance!
