This past winter, this trio of Armani Eye Tints caught my eye and I couldn't get them out of my head. I avoided it, thinking I wouldn't end up liking the product, but I've fallen in love. I wish I would have tried them sooner!
This liquid shadow comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator much like a lip gloss, and this packaging was one of the reasons I held off trying these for so long. Many reviews I had read said that it is difficult to get to the bottom of the tube, but really, I realized it is unlikely I will ever get down to the bottom! My other concern was that this formula appears to be extremely shimmery, but it seems that my shimmer preferences have changed yet again and I'm kind of liking a bit of shimmer in my eyeshadows!
I have three shades, #2 Minuit, #7 Shadow, and #12 Gold Ashes. I'm enjoying all three shades but I'm particularly enamored by #2, which has made for the most fantastic liner/shadow combination for a much complimented blue smokey eye. I thought #12 would make for the perfect inner corner highlight, but it does look a bit frosty and the applicator is not precise enough (for me at least) to easily apply to the inner corner. (I should try it with a brush - any recs?) On the lids, both #7 and #12 are quite pretty!
What really won me over was just how fantastic this formula is overall. Armani claims that this formula is smudge and crease proof with 16 hour wear, and this is absolutely true. Even without primer, I can get amazing all day wear without any fading or creasing. Actually, the shadow didn't even crease after I slept in it! I will note that there are some liners that act a bit funny when applied over the shadow, but I haven't had any issues if I apply liner first. However, #2 looks pretty fantastic without liner!
All in all, I'm really loving these and am happy I finally tried them. I bought the gift set available during the holidays because it was such a good value, and it is still available through several retailers if you'd like to get your hands on it. Have you tried Armani Eye Tints? What are your go to shades??
