This summer, I've been loving a handful of samples from my stash. Inspired by Monika's sample project, I wanted to dive into my sample stash a bit more during the month of June. I was hoping for an epic sample challenge like that one month I almost everything I used was in sample size, but that never quite panned out. I can't say I was particularly aggressive in using samples because I just loved these, but hey, a girl's gotta start somewhere, right?
The Almost Empties
I'm glad to say there are a handful of samples that I'm nearly finished with. Actually, some seem to never end! Namely the Tatcha indigo Hand Cream*, and the by Terry Cellularose Baume D'Eau* sample, which I wrote about last week (here) and don't plan on purchasing. I also am just about done with a little sample of May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon, a balm that is quite hydrating and soft but I just don't love the scent of.
The Savor To The Last Drop Picks
I am just in love with this sample packet of Sisley Hydra Global Intense Anti-Aging Hydration. Like, it kills me how much I like it right now. It has such a great, almost liquid like texture, and it really seems to keep my skin hydrated and soothed unlike any other serum I've used lately. I want this SO much, but it retails for $255, and while it is currently on sale through GIlt for $169, I'm not sure I can even stomach that. Ugh.
I was quite surprised by the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask*. Sure, I had read great reviews of it, but I was never quite interested in it due to some not so thrilling experiences with other Tata Harper samples. (Don't recall what, but I know I hated the smell!) This light pink jelly-like mask is quite fun to use, and leaves my skin feeling cleaner and refreshed. It clears up my clogged skin, and has even seemed to eliminate some of the weird irritation bumps I've been experiencing over the last few weeks. This is one I would consider buying once I've used up some of the masks I have!
I also really fell in love with this lovely travel size of Tatcha's Camellia Beauty Oil*, which is such a smooth, non-greasy oil that is so pleasant to apply. I love how it feels on my skin, and it definitely has been keeping my skin soft and hydrated. I prefer to layer this underneath a moisturizer, though those with normal skin could do just fine with this alone. Hmm, perhaps this would help me forget that awfully pricey Sisley serum!!
The Undecided Picks
I totally forgot to include the deluxe sample of Ren Moroccan Rose Bath Oil, since it has been living on the side of my tub! I haven't quite figured out what I think about this product yet, but it does smell yummy! On the other hand, I thought that the James Read Sleep Mask Tan* was pretty nice to use, though I'm quite confused now if this deluxe sample is the face or body version. (I'm going to go with body, as I think I got it before the face version came out!) At any rate, the color came out nicely and was quite natural, and it didn't smell too strongly or stain anything, so I do plan to keep using it when I get around to it!
All in all, I'm happy to have tried these samples and discover a few amazing products, even if I didn't finish any and hardly purged my sample stash this past month! Have you tried any of these products? How do you keep up with your stash of beauty samples?? I'd love to know!
