I'm excited to report that I've finished a few other items over the last few weeks of December, and I thought I should share them with you as 2016 rolls around. It isn't a ton of stuff, but it is still an achievement for only about two weeks!
I've mentioned my love for Sisley's Black Rose Cream Mask, which I finally splurged on at the beginning of December. Even so, I savored every last drop of this sample packet for a handful of nights as an overnight mask. I don't know what is in there, but it is a miracle - I wake up every morning with smooth, hydrated and calmed skin that just looks good!
My feelings on the Chantecaille Magnolia, Jasmine and Lily Healing Emulsion are mixed. I fell in love with a deluxe sample, and with whatever routine I was using at that time, my skin just loved this moisturizer. It was hydrating but not too heavy and soothed my random redness/irritation. Once fall hit, it just wasn't enough to keep my skin calm all day like it was before. I suspect this one was great because I had other Chantecaille products in my routine initially. :( Since this is quite a pricey moisturizer (that I thankfully got with an awesome promo code), I won't be repurchasing it for now. (Weird how your feelings on products can change, huh?)
I didn't really care for the Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Moisturizer deluxe sample I had. While it isn't a bad moisturizer, there was really nothing about it that wowed me, and though the fragrance is subtle, I still find it to be artificial. Similarly, I wasn't all that excited with Valentina's Home Brewed Psychic Detox Magical Mineral Bath Salts that I picked up one day at Whole Foods. Maybe I didn't put enough in (I split it for 2 baths) or I just can't smell much lately (which is true, dumb allergies!) but either way, I don't think I'll buy it again.
I should definitely toss this little sample tube of Strange Invisible Aquarian Rose. With notes of rose, sandalwood and marjoram, this one is really interesting and unique. It is a really fresh scent in my opinion, and I'm still intrigued by their philosophy of using 100% botanical essences. I don't know if I will buy this perfume but I will for sure splurge on something from the brand eventually! (Bergamot Body Wash, anyone?)
Oh, and I totally forgot that I used up a bottle of Dove Go Fresh Revitalize Body Wash in Mandarin & Tiare Flower*. It's a nice body wash to pick up from the drugstore, and I always have the moisturizing versions in my shower during the winter time.
I'm glad I managed to use up a decent amount of stuff this year, and I hope you all had a Happy New Year! Did you finish up any fun products at the end of 2015? How did you do for the whole year? I'd love to know! :)
