A Jouer Look

I quite like these Jouer products that I've received from the brand, so I thought I would do a look featuring a selection of Jouer products that I have with me on my trip. There are things I am definitely sad to leave out (Matte Moisture Tint*, I miss you!) and instances where i wish I could wear many products at once. But really, how many lip and eye products can I pile on before I start to look crazy? 

The Mineral Bronzer in Suntan* and Highlighter in Tiare* have been favorites since I first received them. I'm loving the sheer pinky shade of the Tinted Lip Enhancer in Rose Pearl*, and despite the fact that my Creme Eyeshadow Crayon in Rococo* is a bit broken, it is a great shimmery beige-gold shade.

My first foray into Jouer Powder Eyeshadows isn't so bad either. It does crease in my monolid area about 6 hours in, but the shade Caviar* is just the grayish purple shimmer I was hoping for. Perhaps I should just pile this on top of the Organza Creme Eyeshadow*, which I absolutely love. HMM! And who can forget the neat interlocking compacts that make Jouer easy to take on the go?

What I Wore, #15

This past week, I only managed to wear makeup really on one day to go out for a belated birthday dinner. I'm not counting the morning I managed a bit of tinted moisturizer, because as my friends tell me, that doesn't count! Here's a look at what I wore!

Products I Loved: I was SO excited to discover that the Armani Waterproof Smooth Silk Pencil in brown didn't make my eyes itch! YAY! I totally love the black one - so smooth, creamy, and budgeproof - but unfortunately black waterproof liners have made my eyes itch lately.  I'm pretty sure that this eyeliner is my favorite one EVER! 

Product Disappointments: I am trying out a sample of Diptyque Precious OIl, and while it is quite a nice scent and luxurious feeling product, it isn't doing much for me in the bath or on my body when it comes to hydration. Bummer, though it is a relief that I won't want to shell out the money for it. 

Added to the Wishlist: I really want to see the Dior and Chanel cream blushes, but I didn't spot them at the counter when I wandered by today. I'll have to do some research on what stores have it in stock for me to play with!

The Concealer Question

I've never been too concerned about concealer, but the last few months, I'm suddenly finding concealers really interesting. I've been wanting every concealer I see!   

As with foundation, I prefer concealers to have a very natural finish so that anything I am covering still looks like my real skin. I'm not too fussed about having full or perfect coverage either, which is probably fortunate since a full coverage natural looking concealer sounds pretty hard to find!  

For undereyes, I'm loving the Armani Maestro Eraser. I have shade #4, and it just looks good. Not a product for very dark circles, but it definitely brightens the undereye area - I'd say it is somewhere between your typical liquidy concealer and an illuminating pen. 

Koh Gen Do Moisture Concealer  has also been a nice option for undereyes. I haven't tried it much on blemishes yet, but the three shades together using the accompanying application technique brightens my eyes and looks quite natural! Again this one doesn't provide a ton of coverage (not like Laura Mercier Secret Concealer) but it works just fine to cover undereyes or minor blemishes.

Last year, I picked up the Fresh Umbrian Clay Concealer for a bit more coverage on blemishes and redness. I've always been a fan of this concealer, especially since it  generally doesn't flake around my occasional breakouts. (How exciting is that!? Though I imagine for more intense breakouts or pimples that are already in a flaky state, it won't be a miracle product there!) 

I won't talk about the discontinued Sephora concealer palette that I have in the above photo, but I will mention that I tried the Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller in the light shade recently which was nice, but I think too light for me. In the last few years, I've also used YSL Touche Eclat, Givenchy Mr. Light, Clinique Airbrush, and Fresh Supernova Brightening Pen. I just picked up the ever popular Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer with some CVS coupons and I'm excited to try that too. :) 

So as my concealer collection continues to grow I'm wondering, how many concealers is too many? How many concealers do you own? I'd love to know! :) 

On Instagram Lately

Since I haven't been wearing much makeup (or even keeping up with what I have been wearing!) I thought I would give you a peek at what I've been up to lately.

I've been trying to instagram more and I thought I would share a brief look at my last two weeks. Some highlights were the Stinking Rose restaurant in San Francisco, a HUGE pile of samples from my adventure at Space NK in the Marin Country Mart, and lots of food and shopping!
