Added to the Wishlist: Warby Parker Ocean Avenue Sunglasses

Today, Warby Parker launched Ocean Avenue, a collection of frames and sunglasses inspired by summer.

I'm loving the frames (especially a gorgeous blue!) and I've fallen for the sunglasses in the collection. Mmm, I love that Marbled Charcoal and the more subtle Newsprint Grey (which is also available in other sunglass and frame styles!)

So, I've now added both of these sunglasses to my wishlist, even though I tend to buy inexpensive sunglasses that I don't have to worry about. BUT these sunglasses are available in your prescription as well, and that is pretty cool. I'm thinking that this could be one more opportunity for me to actually wear my prescription EVER, so it could be well worth the investment. HMM!!

While I've never tried Warby Parker glasses before, many of my friends and co-workers have enjoyed their frames for ages. They also have a great Try Before You Buy program, where you can choose 5 pairs of glasses to try on at home, free of charge! Now I've definitely spent a good bit of time at work offering my opinions on the pairs my co-workers have selected...!

Check out the collection at Warby Parker and the great video directed by Cass Bird in collaboration with designer Chrissie Miller featuring a dance-off on Coney Island... What a great take on summer!

What do you think of the Ocean Avenue Collection? Have you tried Warby Parker before?? :)

I was contacted by Warby Parker to post about this new collection. I was not paid to post about this, and my opinions are 100% my own!

Smooth Your Skin for Summer with Lush Ocean Salt!

A while back, Lush sent me their lovely Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub which is a lovely combination of salt and citrus. You know I am a citrus fiend, so this was quite exciting!

lush ocean salt review

I love the way this product looks. It is so BLUE and happy! I'm also a huge fan of light clean scent with just a hint of citrus! For me, mixing this in my hands with a citrus shower gel (such as Lush's Back for Breakfast or Happy Hippy) really maximizes the scent as well as the performance of this product.

This product is marketed for face and body, but I don't generally recommend it for face unless you prefer a very scrubby manual exfoliant. If you mix a bit with creamy cleanser, it is definitely nice effect, but Lush also does not recommend that those with sensitive skin use this on their face. My fiance has tried it on his face and had no adverse reactions to it, though he prefers to use this just on body. (I think I tried a little bit on my face once too, when I didn't have my normal cleanser in the shower, and my skin seemed just fine!)

Now the reason I love this product is just how smooth it makes my skin look. I remember when I first tried this product, I scrubbed one leg with Ocean Salt and Happy Hippy, and my legs just looked GOOD. (Normally, they look a bit dry and sometimes scaly once spring hits!)

So all in all, I'm a big fan of this body scrub and would definitely purchase this again once I run out! Have you tried Lush Ocean Salt? Do you have a favorite body scrub or routine to prepare for summer? I'd love to know!

Drugstore First Impressions

I recently grabbed a few new goodies from the drugstore, and I thought I would post a first impressions video of me trying these on for the first time.  Here's a quick look at my iniitial conclusions! Check out the video to see the products in action!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
This one seems to be a great light coverage, natural finish foundation from the drugstore, and I would recommend it to those on a budget who do not already have high end foundations they love. I wish the shade range had more yellow undertoned shades, but oh well! In the interest of not having too much stuff around, I may be returning this one.

Revlon Baby Stick in Pink Passion
Again a great drugstore find for those on a budget. Not a ton of product in the little tube, but I love the color. It does have a silicone feel to it, so that may or may not be a problem for you.

Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller in Sheer Tint
I like the feel of it, and the coverage is decent for my minimal circles, but I think this might be just a tad too light for me. What do you guys think?? Should I return it??

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Seashore Frosts & Lavish Lilac
These are fun colors from the summer collection, but I imagined they would be more pigmented or opaque in color. But maybe I'm not applying enough, or something! I'm loving the lilac shade, and haven't decided on Seashore Frosts.

Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in Ravishing Pink
I am totally in love with this shade! I love the light formula of these lipsticks and how they're not drying, and this shade is such a natural pink. YAY!

What do you think? Have you tried any of these products from the drugstore? What about the summer collection items from Revlon and Maybelline?? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
