Sometime in June, I stopped by a Koh Gen Do counter at Barney's and received these generous samples from the SA there. I fell in love with the Brightening Spa Moisture Mask early on, and I really enjoyed these samples as well.
I apologize for the old photo, but I hope it is not too bothersome. :)
Oriental Plants Clean Foam ($45 for 3.53 oz) I haven't used this too many times yet, but I was surprised to find that it has a balmy texture. I've never tried any of the cleansing balms that are out there, but I imagine this would have a similar feel. This cleanser was really smooth going on, and didn't dry out my skin. It is a bit more money than I would want to spend, but I think I would consider it as a future cleanser option.
Oriental Plants Essence II ($126 for 1.35 oz) I really enjoyed this light, clear serum, and the price is just making me want to cry. It gives my skin a really nice layer of hydration, and was enough for my normal to dry skin in the Bay Area over the summer. Now in the winter in Chicago, I would have to use this a serum, but it is really quite nice! I wish I could buy this, but it is just too pricey and I'll have to investigate other serums out there!
Oriental Plants Milky Lotion ($84 for 3.38 oz) This is a really nice light lotion, yet it also gives me enough moisture in this winter weather! Wohoo! This really made my skin feel hydrated as winter was setting in, and that is a remarkable feat! Again, the price scares me away a bit, but I would definitely consider this as a future moisturizer option.
Aqua Foundationin PK-1 ($62 for 1.01 oz) I love the light feel of this foundation, and it really gives your skin some radiance. I love the really light and natural finish of this as well. I prefer foundations with more yellow in them, so PK-1 wasn't quite the right shade for me. However, it did match my skintone pretty well, except for that tinge of pink that I don't prefer. If OC-1 or OC-2 is just a little bit more yellow, then it would be a great foundation! This is definitely on my list for a future purchase, if the shades work.
Oriental Plants Emollient Cream ($123 for 1.06 oz) When I tried this in California, it felt too heavy for daily wear. The texture is quite light and nice, and now that it is winter, it gives me a great amount of moisture! This feels great around my eyes, but again is too pricey. Sad!
Maifanshi Moisture Foundation in 113 and 123 ($62 for .71 oz) I typically don't like foundations marketed for moisture, but this one has such a natural finish! As expected, I need to work quickly to blend it in - I usually put foundation all over my face and blend, but with this I start with a specific area. The shade 123 works for me almost perfectly this winter too.
I love Koh Gen Do's Cleansing Spa Water, which manages to calm redness and even my complexion. I really wish these other products weren't so pricey! At the moment, Koh Gen Do has some great holiday gift sets available on their website, including the foundations and Oriental Plants skincare. I definitely plan to repurchase the Cleansing Spa Water, and pick up the Brightening Spa Moisture Mask, perhaps at the next Barney's Beauty Event! I'm seriously tempted to grab one of the foundations and splurge on one of the skincare items!
What do you think of Koh Gen Do? Are any of these products catching your eye? :)
