When Lush announced their holiday collection, I was really overwhelmed by all of the amazing looking products that would be available. You know how that happens - everything just looks TOO good, and you can't even think of a single thing you want because you want it all? Yeah, that's what happens to me ALL the time. Anyways! A friend of mine recently fell in love with Lush skincare, and having never tried a cleanser remotely like this, I jumped at the chance to try it.
This cleanser smells like a delicious almond cake or cookie. Perhaps it smells like a Buche de Noel, but I've never had one, so I couldn't tell you! In any event, I love that almond is a major ingredient in this cleanser, and its crumbly, cookie dough like texture is so different and fun.
Doesn't that look like something you should be eating? :)
In terms of using this, I wasn't really sure where to start. At first, I just grabbed a small chunk and rubbed it against my wet skin, but I realized that this would take much too long given that I'm SO slow at washing my face or doing anything in a beauty routine anyway. This technique also lends to losing little chunks of the cleanser along the way, and you know how I HATE to lose little chunks of Lush anything!
What worked better for me was to take a chunk into the palm of my hand, add a bit of water, and lather. This gives the cleanser a bit more of a pasty texture, and I don't lose any crumbs! YAY. Plus I can then quickly massage it into my face.
After rinsing off this cleanser, I initially thought it left a bit of residue, but I was totally wrong. My skin feels so clean AND very smooth. YAY! This did not feel like a typical exfoliator, as it is entirely gentle on me, yet seems to have the effect of one!
Here are the ingredients and instructions in case you'd like to see them. :)
So far, I am really enjoying Lush Buche de Noel Facial Cleanser. It doesn't dry out my skin, and I'm totally loving the smooth feeling of my skin. :) I totally want to try out more Lush cleansers!
What do you think of Lush Buche de Noel? Will you be grabbing this or anything else from the holiday collection? :)
