Earlier this summer, I suddenly became obsessed with the idea of a bright red or orange cream blush. I don't know where it started, but after extensive swatching & testing at Sephora, I landed on this orange-y red cream blush from YSL. While I'm not a huge fan of the gold packaging, I love the square pot that this comes in. I suppose I just like things that are square! Lol!
Now look at that gorgeous color! Definitely a bit scary in the pot, but oh-so-pretty once you get it on your skin! This shade is named #4 Audacious Orange, but for some reason the Sephora I went to had it labeled as #4 Bright Coral on the display. I know I have called it that in previous posts, so sorry for the confusion! I've discovered now that both Nordstrom.com and Sephora.com list it as #4 Audacious Orange, and I've looked at my packaging and it actually doesn't have a name at all! Confusing! (If you know why, please fill me in!)
At first, I had minor concerns about blending this blush - I had heard that since it was a cream to powder product, it wasn't as easy to blend as some other formulas available. That made me uncertain, as my initial test application in store hadn't been blended very well. BUT I can now chalk that up to my own impatience/sloppiness when it comes to applying products in stores.
I think this blush is a gorgeous shade of orangey-coral on my skintone, and it nearly functions as a summery contour. My light application of this lasts a good 6 hours before fading, and I imagine longer for a person with normal skin who doesn't lean on or rub their face all the time... (I know, I know, don't scold me! Lol)
Have you tried this or any other cream blush from YSL? This is definitely one of my summer favorites, and I'd love to hear what you think! :)
