I don't know if you can tell, but I am a big fan of Guerlain. :) I purchased this lipstick earlier this year because I thought it was such a neutral pretty shade. A "my lips but better" with a bit of oomph, at least for me!
Guerlain launched the first iteration of Rouge Automatique in the 1930s so that women on the go (at parties and the like) wouldn't have to use two hands to apply their lipstick. I think this is so revolutionary! In any event, I love the push up packaging of this lipstick - no fumbling around with a cap or anything!
I will have to do a better job on these packaging photos when I can catch the sun, but I did manage to get decent shots of this on my face and swatched. I love this shade - do you see the pinky nude goodness of it? :)This lipstick is not drying, which I love. It isn't moisturizing, like I feel Rouge G's are, but I am quite happy that it doesn't dry out my lips or make them flakey, etc. The wear on this for me was around 3 hours - it didn't make it through a meal but managed decently well through snacks and drinking piles of water. At $35, Rouge Automatiques are cheaper than their Rouge G formula and definitely worth a try!
Long ago in this post, I promised I would wear more lipsticks and share them with you. Here we are months later, and I've managed to collect even MORE lip products. (How can this be?!) In any event, I am still working on wearing them more in general - I think at this point my lipstick collection could last me years! Here's a shot of me wearing Guerlain Rouge Automatique in #103 Chant d'Aromes!
What do you think of this lipstick? Have you tried this or any other Guerlain lip formula? Please share, I'd love to know your picks for Guerlain lip products or neutral everyday shades! :)
