May Recap

May really just flew by, and we are finally having some sort of spring. Sort of. (I'll take it!)

Products I Loved:
This month has just been super light when it comes to product usage overall. I can't say I even wore a whole week's worth of makeup! I haven't even tried all of the stuff I got last month. In any event, I've been loving the Pai Rosehip Regenerating Oil and the Louise Young LY39 Eyeshadow Brush. Can't wait to try more by both brands!

Beauty Purchases:
I've really been considering my shopping habits and kept it pretty minimal this month. I repurchased Elemental Herbology Detox Bath Oil and got a By Terry Baume de Rose mini, got some goodies from Gummy's blog sale, and picked up a few things from the drugstore. Oh, and I got a bubble bar from Lush. Not too bad, thank goodness!

Added to the Wishlist:
As usual, my wishlist is growing. I'm particularly intrigued by the new eyeshadows coming out soon from Burberry, I still have my eye on recent releases from Armani, and I desperately want some Hakuhodo. In the shoe world, I'm dying over these studded Burberry wellies and this awesome sandal from Zara. Oh, and can someone get me some Lululemon for my birthday? ;)

Last but not least, I thought I would share this month's little skating practice video, even with a bit filmed in slow motion!

Love It or Toss It, #7

This spring, I've been really considering just how I could possibly use up even a fraction of my makeup collection. I'm slowly making my way through my stash and trying to make strict decisions about the products I'm holding on to. This month's Love It Or Toss It features products that I desperately wanted, and then hardly used.

Marcelle BB Cream, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge, Burberry Pink Taupe

Marcelle BB Cream in Medium to Dark
Quite a few years ago, while visiting Toronto with my family, I discovered Marcelle BB Cream thanks to a Canadian blogger's recommendation. (I wish I remembered who!) I encountered a tester at a Shopper's Drug Mart one afternoon, and fell in love with the coverage and redness reducing properties. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be as EVERY location I visited over the course of that week was sold out. Later on, I discovered that Marcelle ships to the US, and then last spring, Birchbox started carrying the brand. I finally got my hands on this, and then failed to use it more than a few times in the year that I've had it. Ugh! Anyway, I kind of love it. It feels light on the skin, has great coverage for a BB cream, and has a natural finish. I'm definitely holding on to this one!

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pale Pink
This was another one of those Lisa Eldridge induced purchases, and it seems as if Pale Pink looks great on everyone. I quite like the creamy formula of Bobbi Brown Pot Rouges - they're not cream to powder and at the same time are less "sticky" than Stila Convertible Colors. Pale Pink makes for a great neutral blush or lip color!

Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Pink Taupe
Remember when Burberry launched these eye palettes? Yup, I do. I anxiously waited for the next Beauty Trend Show to grab this with a gift with purchase, and I've seriously used it only a few times since. Burberry eyeshadows are just about my favorite eye things in existence, but this palette just doesn't make sense to keep given how long it will take me to use up any eyeshadow . The shades don't pack a punch on my skintone, and I find that I much prefer Dark Sable, Antique Rose, Khaki and Pale Barley, over the lighter, corresponding shades in this palette.

Now, I'm already looking at the next group of products and contemplating a summer blog sale... :)

Have you tried any of these products? If so, how did they work for you? What have you loved or tossed lately? I'd love to know!

April & May Empties

I haven't made a ton of progress when it comes to empties this past month, but I thought I would share anyway. :)

I really loved using the Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Mask, which I just recently posted about here, and I would definitely repurchase it in the future. I'm sure you all remember my love for everything African Botanics, so finishing this bottle of their Pure Marula Oil (review) was definitely a sad day. I plan to purchase the Neroli version in the future, once I've used up more skincare.

I liked the Rituals Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Shower Gel, and my fiance really liked it as well. It is foaming, and suds up well and isn't drying, but I think I will stick to shower gels that are less expensive for now. I find that the Philip B Peppermint and Avocado Shampoo is a really awesome non-stripping clarifying shampoo, but for now I won't repurchase because I have quite a few shampoos. I also liked the Hourglass Film Noir Mascara, which seemed to lift my lashes and give the roots some definition too.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what did you think of them? What have you finished lately? I'd love to know!

Prime & Cover with It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness

I'm always looking for products that can cover a bit of redness, and all last year I had my eye on this primer from It Cosmetics.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Review

I purchased this in December, and have been using it throughout winter and spring. It definitely has more coverage than the Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer, though I prefer the finish of the Sunday Riley overall.

The shade itself is light-medium in tone, but it seems that many people with skin tones lighter than mine have success with this product. (Check out Beautezine's review here.)

It Cosmetics has all of the ingredients posted on their site here. It retails for $32 and is available in store at many Ulta locations as well.

Have you tried this primer or anything else from It Cosmetics? I'm definitely interested in checking out their matte eyeshadow, how about you? :)
