Blush Fiends: Spring Blush with Stila Convertible Color in Sweet Pea

I know it is a bit cliche, but spring is always about pink for me. PINK! I love pink. It is just so cheerful and pretty! My blush pick this spring is a new cream shade from Stila, the Convertible Color in Sweet Pea. WOO!

This is my second Stila Convertible Color and I am really loving them. At $25, they are decently affordable and come in a wide range of shades. They are SUPER creamy and easy to blend, and they work great on both lips and cheeks.

On lips, I can wear these for a few hours without any strange fading, etc. Typically, this doesn't make it through a meal for me, but that is ok - not much does! What I was particularly impressed by is that while this has quite pigmented color and nearly feels like a stain, it is not drying at all for me. It might even be on the verge of moisturizing for my extremely dry lips.

On cheeks, I apply lightly and this makes it most of the day - the shade is light on my cheeks the way I typically apply, so from what I can tell, it lasts about 6-8 hours. I'm hardly wearing any makeup in the photo below, but look at the pretty pink goodness of Stila Convertible Color in Sweet Pea on lips and cheeks!

SOAK UP (LUSH) SUN

I was pretty excited when Lush sent me this adorable citrus perfume. (But really, when am I NOT excited when Lush sends me things, especially if they are citrus??) I was quite surprised by the tube packaging of the Gorilla Perfume, as I don't believe the perfumes in store come with this, but it is so fun that I had to share.

Lush Sun is a delightful citrus concoction composed of orange, mimosa, and sandalwood. I was super intrigued by this combination, as I was recently pleased by the combination of Diptyque's Oyedo and Tam Dao. This one is a much simpler rendition - the purest essence of those notes. 

At first, Lush Sun just smells like orange, which I love, and within a few minutes a light sandalwood develops on my skin. The scent is quite light and not intrusive too, which is nice. I think it is a great idea for people who don't want a heavy fragrance or for those hot summers when you just can't wear any sent without feeling overwhelmed.

While it doesn't last on me for more than a few hours, I kind of like that. Sometimes, I'm definitely in need of a scent that doesn't last all day - I'm strange, and sometimes just don't want to smell like anything! LOL. Here is a shot of the ingredients if you're interested. 

So there you have it - Lush Sun starts off pure orange, and develops into something a bit more complex. I quite like the scent, and it is very different than scents I've tried before. Have you tried any of Lush's perfumes? Do you have a favorite that I have to try? I'd love to know! :)

New Haircut & Shopping Adventures

The other day, I started thinking about how I really wanted to make some YouTube videos on a regular basis. After the somewhat successful setup of my Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation review, I was pretty encouraged to keep going. I'll be on camera every Wednesday for you, and possibly Sundays too, so I hope you'll subscribe to my channel and check back. :)  

I thought I'd start off the fun by sharing my shopping from this past week and also by showing you my new haircut! I was on the hunt for some dresses that I could dress up or down, as I currently have either super casual or more night/evening. I've also been looking for some ankle boots, but it seems like the perfect pair for me just doesn't exist right now…! (And since I'm on a no buy for makeup right now, I swear the beauty bits are purchased with a Sephora credit that I had been saving.)

Put a Spring in Your Step With Lush Sexy Peel Soap

This spring is all about citrus for me, and when Lush sent me Sexy Peel soap a little while ago, I was quite excited. Citrus will always have a place in my stash, that's for sure!

This pale orange soap lathers quite well and is a great option for those not exciting morning showers. Of all the Lush soaps I've tried, Sexy Peel is definitely one of my favorites. Filled with orange and lime oils, I just love the fresh citrus scent of this one. The scent actually reminds me a bit of the Whoosh Shower Jelly and Avobath combined, both of which I love. :)

There's not much to say about this soap except that it smells good, cleans well, and looks pretty. If I had piles of money around, I would definitely put Lush soaps in guest bathrooms and stuff like that, but I don't have piles of money or a guest bathroom, LOL! Have you tried any Lush soaps?
