Must have sharpeners? Yep, I said it, these sharpeners are must haves for any beauty lover who uses things in pencil form. A $3 pencil sharpener from the drugstore just doesn’t cut it sometimes, and these sharpeners from Nars and Urban Decay have saved the day (many a time!) for me.
I know you must be wondering why I think you need a $6 or $10 sharpener, but seriously they're both fantastic. Maybe you don't need both, but any lover of the Nars [Velvet Matte/Satin/Glossy] Lip Pencils should invest in this one. I tried just about every jumbo sharpener I could find in the midst of my Nars obsession in 2008, and this was the only one that sharpened that lip crayon without creating jaggedy edges or wasting a ton of product.
I added Urban Decay Grindhouse to my stash about a year or two ago, when I realized I had a few eyeliners that just never were as sharp as they started. One pencil I liked from BareMinerals in particular (that I have since parted ways with) was just getting destroyed by my Nars and Sephora sharpeners. I don't know what magic Urban Decay has put into this, but it sharpens eyeliners like nothing else!
While it may seem a bit indulgent to spend on sharpeners, I've found both of these to be worth my $16 investment. And hey, I'm certain I've spent $16 on far worse things, and I'm happy to be able to prolong the life of some of my beauty products.
Do you feel that investing in sharpeners is worth it? Have you tried either of these? I'd love to know! :)
