It has been a while since I posted about products that haven't worked out for me, so I thought it was about time to share a few items that I have recently purchased and returned. Of course, your mileage may vary with these products, so read on to see why they didn't make the cut for me!
Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eye Liner, $16 or $45 for set of 3
I'm a bit eyeliner obsessed, so whenever a brand I love releases a new eyeliner, I have to try it. I was especially tempted by this one because of how much my friend Sunny enjoys it. I was initially disappointed that the tip of the liner was not as precise as I expected, but I like how smooth it is to apply. Unfortunately, the real deal breaker for me was wear time. On my eyes after tight lining, this liner smudged off almost entirely within 4-6 hours of application. Sad!
Shiseido The Makeup Stick Foundation in Color Correct, $38.50
There's really nothing wrong with this product - actually, I may try one of their regular foundation stick shades if I ever finish my Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. However, nothing really wowed me about this color correcting stick either. Yes, it did minimize redness, but I don't think it did so any more than a foundation would, at least for my skin. It has just a slight yellow tint to it which tends to blend in after 15-30 minutes, and it seemed to wear just fine layered with foundation. I just don't have the time for an extra step that doesn't wow me!
