*PR SAMPLE
After I finished my last cleanser, I've been going through my stash of deluxe samples to see what else I might fall in love with. There's a whole lot of cleansers on trial over here at BB HQ, and while I haven't found a new favorite, there are definitely some good ones in the bunch.
Those of you who visit frequently know that my skin veers on the side of dry, and can often be uncomfortably dehydrated depending on the season. Because of this, my preference for cleansers leans towards oils, creams, and formulas that are generally more hydrating. Because of this, the Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil Gel and First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser are not quite right for me. Both of these cleansers are gel cleansers, and while I wouldn't say they are stripping or drying, on my skin it just leaves a little to be desired.
The Boscia cleanser has a scent that I associate with gel cleansers, plus a little something reminiscent of the rest of the Tsubaki range, and I don't think it comes out quite right. Mr. Bunny thinks it smells like Windex! I have no comments really about the First Aid Beauty cleanser, except that it is red (fun!) and really either one of these could be the cleanser for you if you like gel cleansers in general.
Alternatively, I will definitely be using up the other two gel cleansers I tested, the Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser* and Evologie Stay Clear Cleanser*. I received both of these in Space NK's recent gift with purchase bag, and neither one feel drying in the least. I like how both of these make my skin feel clean, and the Malin + Goetz even has a bit of grapefruit scent to it!
Last but not least, I must be the only person who was obsessed with beauty in the early to mid 2000s that hadn't tried Dermalogica Precleanse, but I suppose I don't mind being about 10 years late. (LOL!) I remember when my college roommate first discovered this our freshman year and raved about this and the whole concept of double cleansing... but I was just not so much into skincare in those days. At any rate, Precleanse is essentially a cleansing oil that does a decent job of taking of base makeup too. This is my favorite of the bunch, and while I haven't encountered anything that beats my beloved Tatcha and African Botanics cleansing oils, I'd say that this is a pretty solid alternative so far!
Have you tried any of these cleansers or discovered anything new and fun through deluxe samples? I'd love to know your thoughts! :)
