A few weeks ago, I did a guest post over on the Scotch Naturals blog inspired by the polishes they sent me at the end of the summer.
Scotch Naturals is a non-toxic nail polish brand that is not only 3 free, but also free of ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, nitrocellulose, acetone, and heavy metals. The polish itself is a water-based polish, and they also do a kids nail polish line. (How fun!)

Of course, you're wondering, do these polishes work? I'm happy to report that they do!
I received both the base and top coats along with the three polishes, and I'm a fan. Now you may know that I'm not particularly skilled when it comes to nail polish application, so I definitely had difficulty getting a presentable application of Neat, the peachy pale pink shade that I think just looks great against my skintone. I didn't have any trouble (beyond my usual) with the darker shades Canal Street Daisy and Velvet Kilt.
I think both the base coat and top coat worked well too, and the polish even wears well without the topcoat. (On my hands, the polish lasts a few days with minor chipping, which is in line with almost all polishes out there. On my toes, they last ages!!) Additionally, these polishes are not very strongly scented, which I appreciate.
While I'm generally a 1-coat polish kind of girl, I really like the idea of a very non-toxic polish. I will definitely try more of the brand in the future. Have you tried Scotch Naturals or any other non-toxic polish brands? I'd love to know how they worked out for you!
