For the last few months, every time my boyfriend and I went into a Lush store, we would stare at the body powders. He was always very interested in Silky Underwear, and wondered if it could make clothing feel more comfortable against the skin. We were never sure, and always wanted to buy a multitude of other things, so this was always lower on the list of things to try! So when we were offered samples to test, we were both SO excited at the chance. If we didn't oversleep so often, we would definitely be using these as we get dressed everyday! Alas, we are sleepyheads, and oversleep daily, but that's a whole different story! :)
Lustre is a light gold powder with very fine shimmer. It is perfect to highlight your legs for a night out, and has a great jasmine scent that is, in my opinion, similar to Lush's Lovely Jubblies Cream. The bottle does list this as having the Lust fragrance in it, but I'm not familiar enough with the fragrance offerings to speak to that.
I wish I had more opportunity to wear Lustre, as it does impart a nice shimmer. Unfortunately, my legs are in a terrible state of dehydration and ugliness at the moment, so this does not help my moisture levels in this cold winter-like weather. (But then again, right now very few things do!) I've also been successful using this with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, so that may be an application technique to try if you're having trouble using Lush Lustre. I would also like to try mixing it in with a body lotion or even face primer to see if the effect is different! Silky Underwear, on the other hand, is definitely guy friendly. My boyfriend enjoys the light, non-intrusive scent, and he does find it to be smoothing. I know he wants to try it while running, but he hasn't had the opportunity to yet. I will definitely update when he does! I find the scent to be almost like cocoa butter, but it is quite light and goes away quickly for those with sensitive noses. I do feel like my clothes go on easier, and my legs are slightly less dehydrated and ugly, but I'm not sure if that is just me. However, the tight jeans definitely don't feel as bothersome on my skin when I wear this!
I also tried to come up with other ways of wearing this, but have not tried mixing it into a more liquidy lotion or moisturizer. I did try applying this after using First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, but the cream's unique whipped texture doesn't seem to mix well with this powder. I managed to get a bit crumbly on part of one leg! Eek! Oh well, there's plenty of other lotions to try this with! :)
I am definitely excited to try more unique ways of using Lustre and Silky Underwear. If you've tried any of these and have a unique way of applying these, I'd love to know! What do you think about these powders? Will you be picking one up? :)
