Yesterday I posted a little glimpse at the samples I've collected recently, but I'm glad to say that I've also managed to use a few on this extended trip to California. I seem to have thrown away the packets for some of them, but here's a look at a few! Also, is it just me or is it somewhat annoying to use these little foil packets?? Anyways, I'd love to know what you think! Should I keep doing these posts, and have you tried any of these products? :)
La Mer Moisturizing Cream
I picked up a sample of this at Nordstrom, and was surprised to discover that I must warm this up in my fingers ("until it turns clear") and then pat this on my face. It has a floral scent that reminds me of something, but I can't figure out what it is. I also don't know if I can smell this on my face all day, so those who are sensitive to scents may not like it. Feels moisturizing, and my skin is very smooth. Would not purchase due to price.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
I am a fan of Fresh in general but have not yet determined if their skincare line is a bit overpriced for what it does to my skin. So far my experience of their skincare is just average. This cleanser does clean quite well and is gentle, but being a gel based cleanser I found it a bit drying. Reminded me a bit of Philosophy Purity but in gel form, with minor scent that I can't describe. Not for me, but could be great for those with oily skin. Not planning to purchase, and must give away deluxe sample size!
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense
I have had good experiences with Clinique moisturizers overall, and do like Moisture Surge but found it not quite hydrating enough for winter. This formula was heavier than the regular version but my skin still felt a bit tight when I used it with the Soy cleanser. It could just be the amount that I was squeezing out of the package to apply as well. Since I have a number of moisturizing products at the moment, I will not purchase this, but may do so in the future if I'm in need of a light formula that offers decent moisture.
Koh Gen Do Brightening Spa Mask
I got a ton of Koh Gen Doh samples a few weekends ago after visiting Barney's in San Francisco. I was surprised at the generous amount of samples the SA gave me, especially since I didn't purchase anything. I asked for the mask sample, and really loved the light clay texture. My boyfriend even used it with me, and we have had very smooth skin and tightened pores for a few days afterwards. I especially enjoyed how clean my skin felt as well. I would love to purchase this, but it is a bit of a splurge for me. Will have to wait a bit to purchase after we finish the Anthony Logistics mask I purchased that the boyfriend loves!
Koh Gen Doh Oriental Plants Emollient Cream
I randomly tried this cream and discovered it was a bit too oily for what I prefer. It was quite moisturizing, however, and I can see how it could do wonders for severely dry skin. Not a skincare need for me at the moment, so I'll be skipping this!
