Cold Weather Lip Balm: Osmia Luster

A few weeks ago, Osmia Organics sent me their lovely Luster Lip Balm. I knew I wanted to try it after seeing Jessica's post (here) about this beet colored balm, and I am not disappointed.

The air at work is quite good at drying out just about everything - my first day back, my hydrated skin and lips were dehydrated and uncomfortable by lunch. When I wear Osmia Luster, my lips feel good all day. For maximum hydration, I do have to reapply throughout the day to make it through the horrible dry air situation, but even if I apply this just once, my lips feel ok enough to get through the day. (Does something exist for dry-lipped people that doesn't require reapplying?)

I am also a fan of the sheer red tint it brings to my lips. Even though in the tube it looks deeply purple like beets, (which is an ingredient in this lip balm!), on my lips it becomes a nice warm red tint. Funnily enough, this lip balm smells a bit earthy like beets too!

While I'm still not sure where this ranks with my favorite lip balms, (surely in my top 5!) I'm definitely a big fan of Osmia Organics Luster and am so glad to be able to try it! What do you think? Will you be grabbing one for yourself? :)

October Beauty Purchases

Here are all my purchases for the month of October. For a little while, I had given up on my low buy, but by the end of the month I wanted to get back on track. (Haha, how could I even have thought such things with the Sephora VIB sale approaching? At least I saved a lot of store credit!)

I hope you'll take a peek at the video and let me know what you think!

What I Wore, #21

I've failed to take photos of what I wore this week, but I am happy to say that I wore makeup (even just a little!) nearly every day this week. Woohoo!

Posts This Week:  All You Need is Cleansing Water // Koh Gen Do Moisture Concealer vs Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage // Obsession: Beautannia Columbia Road Candle // Go Natural with Sarabecca Day & Night Perfumes // October Empties

Products I Loved: Laura Mercier's Caviar Sticks are topping my list. Super convenient, perfect for everyday, and such a great range of colors. Look out for a post soon, on my whole collection of them!

Product Disappointments: Nothing this week, though I think something in my skincare routine is maybe making my eye makeup a bit... melty? Or maybe I should just use primer haha!

Beauty Purchases: My fiance offered a budget for shopping, so I ordered some Neom and Rouge Bunny Rouge. Both brands are new to me, so I am so excited to try them. I also cashed in some of the Sephora store credits I've been saving, and have been picking up lots of goodies at the Sephora VIB sale.

Added to the Wishlist: I spotted a set of L'artisan Parfumeur Travel Sprays and I am SO tempted to order it before the sale ends. Seems like a stellar deal, and I've been so curious about the brand. I need to order this for science, right? LOL!

All You Need is Cleansing Water

A few years ago if you asked me what I used to remove makeup, my answer would have been, hands down, Lancome Bi-Facil. After a few bottles of it though, I started getting tired of the oily texture and strong rose scent.

Now I have new products in my makeup removal arsenal, and after watching Lisa Eldrigde's makeup removal video (here) and splurging on Shiseido Facial Cottons (review), I'm all set!

Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water
Some of you may know that this is one of those products I just can't live without. I discovered it about two years ago, and it is just perfect. Using Lisa's technique on the eyes, this removes eye makeup of all kinds beautifully. In a pinch, I can even cleanse my face well enough with this, and it has even toned down redness for me in the past!

Earthscience Chamomile & Green Tea Eye Makeup Remover*
This unscented vegan makeup remover is a breeze to use. Just squeeze this clear gel into a cotton pad, smush it around, and let it soak on your eyes for a moment. The waterproof items require a bit more effort, but otherwise this remover does the trick and is more natural than many others on the market.

Ok, this isn't a cleansing water exactly, but it almost falls into that category in my book. I like it far more than those oil based eye makeup removers out there! If I have heavy duty eye makeup on, I use this first then follow up with the Koh Gen Do for any remnants and the rest of my makeup removal.

Rodial Dragon's Blood Cleansing Water
My lovely best friend sent me this (along with a few other items from the line that I LOVE) as a belated birthday gift, and I say it may give my favorite Koh Gen Do a run for its money. I think it works just as well - great for eye makeup removal and face cleansing in a pinch! Plus I love the pump and overall packaging. How can I pick between the two??

Darphin Azahar Cleansing Water (GWP sample)
Perhaps my least favorite of the bunch, this rose-scented water feels good on the skin and removes face makeup decently. It does require a bit of rubbing to properly remove eye makeup, so for me that is a big negative.

What do you use to remove your makeup? Are you a cleansing water fan? Have you tried any of these? I'd love to know!
