I ♥ Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

A few weeks ago, Tatcha sent me a few lovely items to try. I'm quite pleased to be able to try the line, and immediately started using the Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

Those of you who have been reading the blog lately probably know that my skin has been quite dehydrated, and even has the occasional dry patch. I suspected that my current cleansing options were too harsh to use everyday, morning and night, so this cleansing oil was a very welcome change.

This pretty travel size tube of the cleansing oil is so perfect for me right now. Massage the oil onto dry skin, then rinse off, and I love how my skin isn't dry or stripped at all. While I don't have much experience with cleansing oils, I think this one is lovely. My face feels clean, but also like I've retained moisture. It is not too oily, and very lightly scented. I haven't tried it with full on makeup removal, but this works fine for any residual product that is left on my skin.

I am definitely a fan of this, and I am so thrilled to have the chance to try it. I can't wait to try more of the line! Have you tried this product? What cleansing oils would you recommend? I'd love to know!

On the Fence: Nars Radiant Cream Foundation

Nars recently released their Radiant Cream Foundation and I was SO excited to try it as their Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is one my favorite products ever. I've been testing this foundation for a few weeks now, and I'm sad to say that it wasn't love at first sight.

Housed in a small compact, the Nars Radiant Cream Foundation is a super creamy formula, and that is initially what caught my attention. While you can purchase the proper compact with a mirror and a slot for your sponge for $10, I decided to skip it as the product is perfectly usable without.

I love the coverage as well, though I did initially have a hard time figuring out the best way to apply this foundation. In the end, the Real Techniques Expert Face brush won, though I have heard that the BeautyBlender is a good one too.

My least favorite aspect of this foundation, and perhaps a dealbreaker, is that it doesn't fare well on dry skin. I was able to see some dry patches on my skin on some days, and the overall texture of my skin just didn't look that great close up if I tried to retouch my makeup at any point.

Do take a peek at the video below, where I chat more about this foundation and apply it on camera! What do you think about Nars Radiant Cream Foundation? Did it work for you?

A Jouer Eyeshadow Pairing

A few weeks ago, I was playing around with a really quick Jouer look. (See that post here, including a video!) I had been thinking that these two Jouer eyeshadows were similar, and I just couldn't help but pair them together.

Of course, they do slide together, and I think these two shades go together quite well. Layer on Jouer Creme Eyeshadow in Organza, displayed on the right in the photo above, and described by Jouer as "a shimmering lavender taupe.

I LOVE the Jouer Creme Eyeshadows - so creamy and easy to apply, beautiful subtle shimmer, and so long wearing too. Check out my original review here. I was quite pleased to try the Powder Eyeshadow in Caviar, described as "a shimmering navy charcoal." Initially, I thought the shades were very similar, but when I looked at them side by side, I still thought they went perfectly together. While I do have to note the Caviar creases in my monolid area about 5 hours in without primer, I think this little combination is a perfect pairing!

Love It or Toss It, #2

A few weeks ago, Gummy and I started a little series where we selected a few products to use that we weren't so sure about. We decided to use them over the course of a weekend, and make that final decision. Check out the last post here.

Lancome Khol in Love Eyeliner in Chocolate Affair (LE)
I purchased this a while back and didn't really use it much. I suspected that it bothered my eyes, and I'm sad to say that it is not as budgeproof as I hoped. After a few hours, it smudges a bit in my monolid area, and it definitely makes my eyes feel itchy and tired. I think I can still return this, but if not, then it is definitely going in the blog sale!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Radiance
I love the idea of a radiance primer, but I just haven't found one liked yet. This one, while not shimmery, just made my skin texture look BAD. (Like, worse than it does without any makeup on.) I thought I liked it, but I think I was having better skin days then. I might give the L'Oreal Lumi Primer another try, since it was subtle and worked fine on my skin. Oh well, there's always something else to try!

Laura Mercier Satin Lip Color in Duchess Rose
This shade doesn't seem to exist anymore, which is sad because it is such a nice bright yet work appropriate pink. I like the long wearing semi-matte finish - it lasted hours, through dinner and Pinkberry, and drinking soda. Really, it was mostly still there after I violently wiped my mouth after dinner haha! I'm keeping this one, and while it may not be a "special" or terribly unique color, I plan to use up this cute mini!

It definitely feels good to go through the collection and make decisions on it, don't you think? Have you tried any of these products? Did you love them or toss them?? I'd love to know!

P.S. This time around, two lovely ladies also decided to join me. Check out their posts here: Wondeondigo & Lipstick Boulevards. I plan to do this again in 2 weeks, so if anyone wants to join in, whether you have a blog or not, do let me know! :)
