If You Don't Mind Lavender, You Need to Try Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish Foundation!

During the Sephora VIB sale earlier this month, I spent a long time debating what foundation I would purchase for winter. There were many options that I just wanted to buy, but I tried to be reasonable and just purchased Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Even Finish Foundation.

I find that the foundation is very nicely packaged in a frosted glass sort of bottle. The pump itself is great as well - it is super easy to control the amount foundation that comes out. I really love that there are so many shade options in Bobbi Brown's foundation lineup as well.

I landed on the shade 4.25, Natural Tan, which is a yellow toned light-medium shade. The finish is very natural and long wearing, as if I had no makeup on. Yay! The shade might be just a tinge too yellow for my skin tone right now, but I think it blends in nicely. What really drew me in initially was that a little bit of this foundation nicely masked the redness in the blemishes I had at the time.

It is a bit harder to blend this with fingers, and it looks amazing applied with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. Applied this way, it is a light to medium coverage foundation in my opinion. With a sponge or paddle style foundation brush, I expect you could heavier coverage, but that's not for me! :)

Unfortunately, the one thing I completely do not like is the scent. The foundation has a lavender scent, and for some reason I seriously HATE lavender. If I apply the foundation around my nose, I absolutely cannot stand it. :( The scent does go away, and it doesn't bother me much on the rest of my face, and that worked fine the first few times I wore it. Since the area around my nose could use some coverage, I tried applying the foundation slightly heavier there and really did not enjoy that experience. I'm a little bit disappointed, since this foundation is so great otherwise.

If you don't mind lavender, I highly recomend this foundation! Unfortunately, this is going back to the store for me, as there are a ton of other foundations I'd like to try. What do you think? Have you tried this or any other foundations from Bobbi Brown? :)

Obsession: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner

I recently won this eyeliner from a Saks Twitter giveaway, and boy am I glad I did! This is not something that I would've bought for myself, since I have SO many eyeliners and wear them so rarely.The eyeliner itself comes in a small glass jar - I know that I have to be sure to screw the lid on tightly, since I don't want this to dry up prematurely! (Oh, how sad would that be?!)  I got the shade Black Ink, which is a deep, opaque black. Seriously, if you've been looking for dark dark blacks, this is definitely one of them! Check out these swatches! Once the eyeliner sets, in about 30 seconds or so, it really is budgeproof. I tried to wipe these arm swatches with a tissue a few minutes after application, and it didn't smudge one bit. In the shower, I had to do some incredibly vigorous scrubbing with soap before these even came off. 

I've been wearing the liner mainly for tightlining, which I love. Filled in between my lashes, this just makes them look fuller and more defined. Not to mention that the eyeliner doesn't move one bit! I'm sad to say that I wore this overnight twice, and even while sleeping and rubbing my eyes, the eyeliner barely budged. (I know, I know, I'm so terrible at cleansing!!) Not to worry though, this eyeliner does remove easily with a proper makeup remover and technique.

So, it is safe to say that I'm in love with this eyeliner! I wish I had tried it sooner, but I guess I didn't want to go through the "hassle" of a gel liner. Yes, using a brush can be a bit time consuming, especially if it is new, but seriously, this liner is definitely worth a bit of extra time in your routine.

Boyfriend Attempts Makeup!

Every once in a while, my boyfriend decides to put on makeup for me. This is the first time it's been photographed!! I was appalled that he didn't want to use foundation or concealer... LOL
