2012 & December Resolution Recap

Can you guys believe it is the end of 2012?! I sure can't! It has seriously snuck up on me! Here's a look at my resolutions for 2012. ALWAYS wash my face before falling asleep! Or at least use a makeup wipe! So... I have to admit, I'm still pretty terrible in this area. I do manage to use a wipe most nights, but yeah, in general, I am not good about washing my face. Wish the sink was by my bed, LOL!

Drink more water! I definitely succeeded in this one, YAY! I have fewer headaches, and feel better overall.

Accomplish at least one beauty challenge or no buy in the year. So I didn't accomplish full on no buys, but I definitely managed a few limited buys and a few weeks of no buys. Better than nothing!

Keep makeup area clean and organized Yeah... I still need to work on this. I think a weekly cleanup is what would really help make me stay organized, as things seem to pile up during the week.

Use as much of my collection as possible! Not as much as I would have hoped, but better than 2011.

Try some new brands (even though this won’t help with using up what I have!) Edward Bess, Jouer, and Hourglass are top brands on my list.Burberry and Le Metier de Beaute too! I fell in love with Burberry and Jouer, and definitely want more Hourglass. I need to take a better look at Edward Bess & Le Metier de Beaute!

Continue giving drugstore brands a chance! I definitely tried more drugstore stuff this year, and found some new favorites too! Wohoo!

So now you may remember that I gave myself some pretty ambitious resolutions for the month of December too...

While I started off the month strong, I definitely didn't manage to blog daily as exhaustion and the holidays caught up with me. I did manage to wear makeup almost everyday - I've only fallen off the boat since Christmas, and I wore perfume a handful of times too. Most importantly, while I did spend a bit on beauty, I did manage to spend less and I think almost stay within budget!

So, how do you think I did? How did you do on your resolutions this year?? I'd love to know! :)

December Resolutions

Can you believe that it is already December? It is the last month of 2012! CRAZY! I've been thinking about New Year's Resolutions, but over the last few days, I came up with a few goals/resolutions that I wanted to stick to for December.

Spend Less. As you probably saw from all of my November spending, I couldn't possibly need any more more things, nor should I spend any more money. So, I am sticking to my very strict budgets in just about every category. Specifically, $25 for beauty and $25 for personal care, which could include shampoo, soap, moisturizer, etc.

Wear Makeup Everyday. With all the stuff I've accumulated, I really ought to wear some of it. I think I must've only worn makeup not even 5 whole days in November, yet I bought more makeup than any regular (non-blogging) person would need. Plus I really want to discover new looks and practice my skills!

Wear Perfume. Again, I have so many pretty fragrances and never seem to use any. I don't know if I could manage everyday, but I'd be happy with just wearing it more often.

Blog Daily. This could be hard, although I was close to blogging everyday in November. What will be even more remarkable is if I could manage to share my daily looks for the month!

What do you think of my December resolutions? Any tips to help me stick to it? Happy December!! :)

Summer Resolutions

I can't believe we are halfway through 2012 already! I wanted to do a recap of my 2012 beauty resolutions and see how I did... and I think at this point I may need to make a few more!

  1. ALWAYS wash my face before falling asleep! Or at least use a makeup wipe! --> Still being lazy many nights. ICK!
  2. Drink more water! --> Doing great with this nearly everyday!
  3. Accomplish at least one beauty challenge or no buy in the year. --> Managed a few no-buys for 3 week long periods... not bad!
  4. Keep makeup station clean and organized --> Been doing great for the most part!
  5. Use as much of my collection as possible! --> Definitely using more products, but could do more!
  6. Try some new brands (even though this won’t help with using up what I have!)Edward Bess, Jouer, and Hourglass are top brands on my list. Burberry and Le Metier de Beaute too! --> Definitely tried on more products from a number of brands that were new to me!
  7. Continue giving drugstore brands a chance!  --> this is going well, especially considering the number of standout drugstore products released this year.
And now I'd like to add a few more to complete by year's end:
  1. Stick to a monthly beauty budget or limited buy. (Will determine this ASAP!)
  2. Finish 5 products.
  3. Successfully complete another no buy, this time for at least 3 weeks but preferably a month.
  4. Wear SPF everyday.
How did you do on your New Year's Resolutions? Are you making anymore to end the year with a bang? I'd love to hear!

January Goal Recap

I wanted to start 2012 on a strong note so I made a number of goals for the month:

  • Wear makeup as often as possible!
  • No buy for the month!
  • Wash my face at night!

Check out my results in my Goal Master App! 8 days out of the month where any makeup touched my face! And most were just me testing or putting on products after work for fun...

And finally, here are the results of my January No Buy! Not perfect, but could be worse... I'll have a haul post up tomorrow... didn't spend more than $30 of my own money in total though!

Anyway, I have every intention of continuing these goals on my app for the rest of the year! I'm interested in seeing what comes out of it! What do you guys think - would something like this help keep you accountable for your goals?
