Cool Off with Lush This Summer!

I've always been a fan of Lush Cosmetics - the stores have always been fun places to go to, and I love the luxury of bath bombs during cold winters. (The Avobomb is my favorite!) To my surprise, Lush emailed me a few weeks ago and I was SO beyond excited to sample more of the product line. This email from Lush also introduced me to the novel idea of putting Lush's shower jelly and toner into the fridge! I suppose I could have thought of this myself... but I totally didn't, and it sounded like just the PERFECT thing for summer.

(I have to admit, I spent that whole day at work wanting to tell everyone to put their Lush toners and shower jelly in the fridge, which would not have been relevant to a bunch of guys and girls who wear little to no makeup. I must've told my boyfriend at least 10 times via text - and more in person - how cool of an idea I thought that was! Boy, am I glad he finds my obsessions funny.) 

Fortunately for me, my work trip here in California was extended... but unfortunately for me, that also meant that I had to wait for my package, and I bugged my mother repeatedly to check my mail and forward the package to me. The package arrived last night - thank goodness, since I was just beginning to think the package got lost!

Anyways, here's a preview of what I received. I promise that reviews are coming soon! Have you tried these Lush products, or better yet, PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE???

Closer Look: Sally Hansen/Carmindy Sun Glow Bronzer in Spring

I picked this up during the CVS beauty clearance because I wanted to see what drugstore bronzers were like these days. I really wanted the Summer shade, but the one in my CVS was broken. :(

The product itself is very pretty, and I discovered a compartment below with a small brush as I was taking these photos.

I found it difficult to swatch, but here's what I managed. Maybe I can get a face shot in sometime. :)

The bronze shade appears matte, and comparable to other bronzers that I have. The pink highlight is nice, if you like pink highlight, and the shimmery bronze shade (that is difficult to see) is sparkly, but not too much so when it's on my face. Blended together, this combination gives a nice blush/bronze look.

It's a great purchase for the holidays if you can find it on sale at CVS (about $3.50), but given my needs I probably would not have purchased it for the full price. (I would much rather put that towards a cheek product from theBalm, Nars, Dior or Guerlain!) However, I do like how it looks on.

If you can find it, it's a great value & nice rosy bronze shade on the skin. If you avoid the shimmery bit you can get a matte shade as well!

I received this bronzer last night and put it on right away. Let me just say that I LOVE it.

What I love: - great matte color - affordable $19 price point - fun, portable packaging - easy to blend and apply in general! What's not to love?

First Impression: Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water

During the Sephora VIB Sale, I decided to pick up Koh Gen Do's Cleansing Spa Water. I've read great reviews of Koh Gen Do products, so I wanted to try something from the brand - I wasn't thrilled with the removers that I have at home, so I thought this would be a great option!

I finally unpacked this today, and I was really excited to try it out! So far I really like it!

It's not oily and doesn't have a scent, which were two things I really wanted in a remover. I like the bottle design because it holds the product in and prevents you from spilling or applying too much. (The open bottle style of Lancome Bi-Facil, for example, is a bit prone to oversaturation and spilling for me!)

I didn't have to saturate an entire cotton pad, and was able to remove both eyes with less effort than other removers I've used. At $39 for 10.15 oz (vs Lancome BI-Facil's 4.2 oz for $26) is a much better value for me, especially when on sale!
