Holiday Wishlist
I have so many products that I want to try, but there are two products that I'm dying for this holiday. I'm absolutely dying for the Nars Nagauta Kabuki Brush Set, which includes the Botan, Ita, Yachiyo, two exclusive brushes for eyes & lips. I've been obsessing over the Nars Yachiyo, so I would settle for that brush, but this set is just absolutely gorgeous. At $225, while a great value, is too much for me at the current moment.
(However, I just spotted a GiltCity deal - $50 for $80 of Nars products, so I may go for this if the deal is still available when I get paid next week!)
I'm also desperate to get Chanel's Soleil Tan Bronzing Base. My local Nordstrom stores have not had this in stock, so hopefully it's still available. I was able to test it in store, and I loved the warm color it gave my cheeks.
What products do you have on your wish list this holiday?
First Impression: Clarisonic Mia
I purchased the Clarisonic Mia at Sephora yesterday during the VIB sale. I was really excited to try it, especially after extensive research and consideration. :) The demo I got at the VIB shopping party last Thursday night did a great job exfoliating my skin, and so I finally bit the bullet. I chose the Berry shade, which is a deeper/magenta pink. It's a great color, and a great size - convenient, travel friendly. I tried it last night and my skin feels noticeably smoother - as does my boyfriend. He thinks the Clarisonic is very sturdy and well made - and quite possibly the best beauty purchase I've come up with lately!
The brush is quite soft and not at all aggressive on the skin, and I find the other brush head options quite interesting. Anyway,Β I'm excited to test it out over the next few weeks and give a proper review!
Review: Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara
A few months ago, I purchased Too Faced Lashgasm with the Too Faced Smokin' Roses kit at Ulta. I've been going back and forth on what I think about it.
It is described as a "vitamin rich, creamy formula that penetrates for high color absorbency and exaggerated length." It's unique bristles (which remind me of a cactus almost!) really do help define the lashes without clumps!
(Sorry the photo is a bit blurry on some of the bristles!)
The ingredients include Meadowfoam Oil, Vitamins A & E, and jojoba oil, which are meant to keep lashes moisturized, flexible and protected. I love that this mascara keeps my lashes feeling (and looking) very natural - sometimes I can't stand the coated feeling of mascara for everyday!
Too Faced's advertising doesn't claim it to be waterproof, but I've found it to be one of the most waterproof options out there! I've worn it to sleep (accidentally!) multiple times and it has looked the same as the day before. It even holds up well in the shower!
(Can you tell which eye has the mascara? Sorry for my makeup-less face!) This photo is with one coat, and I find that multiple coats still have the same natural clump free effect and do provide more drama.
However, given the lashes I have, I wonder if a $21 mascara ought to be super dramatic right off the bat. I haven't decided on this just yet, but I've found that it's a great option for everyday, and I like it even more layered with other mascaras.
All in all, I love the mascara for being extremely waterproof and very naturally defining my lashes. If you are on a budget and looking for drama, this may not be the option for you, but it's perfect for a natural gal who wants her mascara to stick!
It is available at Sephora, Ulta, and other major retailers that carry the brand. You can get it for a great price on Too Faced for $21 during their 20% F&F sale which ends on 11/16 & includes a gift with $100 purchase.
