Makeover at Le Metier de Beaute

I went to Neiman Marcus in hopes of trying out (and hopefully purchasing!) some Tom Ford products. It turned out the location I went to only carried the lipsticks and fragrances though! So I ended up sitting down for a look at the Le Metier de Beaute counter to try out some of their products! 

My boyfriend didn't like the look - he thought the eyeshadow was too purple and that my skin was covered up too much and kind of cakey. I love the lip colors, but didn't love how the products on my skin looked around my nose and mouth. (I'm thinking it must've been the powder... I just am not a fan of powder texture on my skin!)

Products Used:

Peau Vierge #2, Classic Flawless Finish Concealer #6, True Color Eyeshadow in Corinthian, as well as a light pink & matte medium brown, Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Noir, Anamorphic Lash Mascara in Aubergine, Dualistic Eye Pencil in Champagne, Brow Bound Eyebrow Pencil in Fawn, Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss in Cannes, Dualistic Lip Pencil in Rouge, Kaleidoscope for Face

I was most impressed by the lip color (isn't that a pretty combination??) The brow pencil was also a great color match, so I may consider that in the future as well. I also liked the purple-black of the mascara, and the champagne eye pencil had a nice effect! (But why is my face so shimmery in these photos? Lol)

For the price points, some of the products didn't stand out to me so I probably would not purchase them, but all in all, I really enjoyed my first experience with Le Metier products! What do you think? Should I purchase any of these products?

For some reason, I always think this hat makes makeup look pretty. LOL.

Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Color in Canyon Nars Eyeshadow in Bali Clinique Airbrush Concealer in Neutral/Fair

Do you have any of these products? I picked up the Clinique concealer and I definitely want the Laura Mercier Creme blush, which I think is a nice peach that I don't have in my collection.

Boyfriend Attempts Makeup!

Every once in a while, my boyfriend decides to put on makeup for me. This is the first time it's been photographed!! I was appalled that he didn't want to use foundation or concealer... LOL

FOTD: Everyday Smoky

I've always been a HUGE fan of smoky eyes, but have spent most of the last year trying to find neutral daytime looks I like. This was my attempt at a smoky eye that was not too wild for everyday or even for a workday. I really liked this look, and it didn't fully translate to photos (still working on this skill!)

For some reason, I couldn't figure out what shades to use on my eyes so ended up using a lot of eyeshadows in an attempt to find the color I was looking for... In any event it was nice to use the Lancome shadows I had never used! I'd love to know what you think of this look! :)
