Currently Testing, #1

This week, I thought that instead of posting my makeup bag selection, I would show you guys some of the products I am currently testing for future features.

There's a few items I haven't included here, such as Marc Jacobs Highliner and Chantecaille Sel that you can expect to see very soon. As I've mentioned previously, I'm hoping to compare Koh Gen Do Moisture Concealer and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage some time this month as well. Since a lovely reader sent me a sample of her Bourjois Bronzing Primer, I think it would be quite useful to compare it to the cult favorite, Chanel Bronze Universel.

I also plan to eventually post about Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Sticks, of which I now have four, and I've been testing out the much hyped By Terry Ombre Blackstar. I'm also looking forward to trying Bite's lip primer, and spending a little more time with Tarte Exposed, the new lipsticks from Urban Decay, and the Lipstick Queen lipstick I received in my Space NK gift with purchase last month.

Do any of these products catch your eye? Are there any that you've tried, or anything that you want to read about soon? I'd love to know! :)

This Week's Makeup Bag, #15

This week, I've selected a handful of exciting products to try. Most exciting on the list is the new, limited edition Tom Ford She Wolf eyeshadow trio. I couldn't resist the rave reviews, and I'm really looking forward to trying this out.

Tom Ford She Wolf, Tarte Exposed, Marc Jacobs Highliner in Ro(Cocoa), Chantecaille Sel Eyeshadow, Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Catfight, Nars Radiant Cream Foundation

I've also included my favorite all around foundation, Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation, in the event that my skin really doesn't get along with Nars Radiant Cream Foundation. I haven't yet made a final decision on the Nars, so hopefully this week will allow for some proper testing. I hope to also make a final decision on Marc Jacobs Highliner in Ro(Cocoa), a pretty brown shade that doesn't seem to irritate my eyes like the black.

Last but not least, I plan to try out some fun new(ish) to me items: Chantecaille Sel Eyeshadow, the cute mini Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Catfight that is a Sephora 100 point perk right now, and the ever popular Tarte Exposed that Gummy gifted to me ages ago.

Hope you enjoyed this peek into my makeup bag - now fingers crossed that I actually manage to wear all of it! :) What is in your makeup bag this week? I'd love to know!

This Week's Makeup Bag, #14

At the beginning of the year, I set out to select weekly makeup bags so I'd have an easier time in the mornings putting on makeup. While I haven't been terribly successful with either putting on makeup OR making my weekly selections, I thought I'd try again.

This week's makeup bag is a studded pouch that I purchased this past Spring. I've used it for receipts and other random things, but never thought to use it for makeup until this weekend. I think this is a perfectly "me" alternative to the Whistles pouches that are all the rage among the UK bloggers, and I've filled it with a handful of new-to-me items that I'm looking forward to trying. (Well, a few are newly acquired, while others were long ago purchased and never used... story of my life!)

I'm quite excited to try the Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer that I grabbed as a 100 point perk at Sephora. I did also purchase the liner in a pretty brown shade, but more on that later! Nars Radiant Creamy Foundation is another I'm quite excited to play with, as is the Hourglass Illume Duo in Sunset. I've grabbed some old standbys, Estee Lauder Stay On Shadow Paint in Chained and Fresh Umbrian Clay Concealer, and threw in a mini Laura Mercier lipstick in Duchess Rose that has been hanging around in my collection for ages unused.

Now I hope I manage to use some, really ANY, of these products this week. Wish me luck! :) What products will you be wearing this week? What helps you put makeup on quickly in the morning? I'd love to know!

This Week's Makeup Bag, #13

I've been falling off the bandwagon lately when it comes to wearing makeup regularly, so I've decided to return to making weekly makeup bag selections.

For those of you who haven't seen these posts before, I started this up at the beginning of the year to help me wear makeup on a daily basis! Since I'm so pressed for time in the mornings, I wanted to have a selection of products all ready to go, to cut down on time trying to figure out what to wear. Since I have somehow managed to collect a large number of cute makeup bags during the course of the last few years, I figured I ought to rotate those in too!

Here's a really lightly applied version of the look. This week, I'm playing around with Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel (otherwise known as Bronze Universal) and Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I also love the bright pink pop of color in Revlon Baby Stick in Pink Passion and am so happy that the Armani Waterproof Smooth Silk Liner in brown is working for me.

chanel bronze universal, soleil tan de chanel, revlon baby stick pink passion, armani luminous silk foundation 6, diorshow maximizer, diorshow iconic overcurl, maybelling instant age rewind, armani waterproof smooth silk liner, clinique superfine li…

I've also decided that I must remember to wear sunscreen on my face, as the sun is so much stronger here in California, and I enjoy Lancome Bienfait UV 50+. I need to use up the Diorshow Maximizer and Diorshow Iconic Overcurl minis, as I think they're expired. I never remember to do my brows, so Clinique Superfine Liner for Brows is in the pile, as is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind.

What are you wearing this week?  How do you manage to wear makeup on a daily basis? Do share!
