Ever since Hourglass released their Ambient powders, there has been SO much hype. I avoided the hype for a while, actually, because I just didn't think the product would be right for me. When the Ambient Lighting Blushes came out, I couldn't resist! While I like the blushes, I seriously love the Ambient Lighting Bronzer. And that's when the collection started to multiply...
Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Brilliant
The latest addition to the range, this Strobe Lighting Powder has a very fine and subtle shimmer. As a highlighter, it is far more subtle than something like Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, and on me, it hardly shows up even if I use it with a damp Beautyblender. (On me, this shade is definitely not a highlighter.) As a finishing powder, I do think it has a nice finish, but the verdict is still out on this one.
Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused*
I don't use powder much, but when I do, this is generally my pick. Sephora describes it as "a soft, warm, pale yellow powder that conceals redness and gives skin clarity like a soft ray of morning light" and I do think that it gives a nice finish to the skin. I don't know about clarity and concealing, (does any powder really do that?!) but it is a nice powder - I even wore it on my wedding day!
Ambient Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light
I was totally obsessed with this last summer. I just love the shade, and it has the perfect glowy look to it. I also wore this on my wedding day. :) This bronzer is the one and only reason I wanted more Ambient stuff!
Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat
I haven't been wearing blush lately (I know, that is so weird of me) but I love the look of this one. On me, it's a nice pinky-coral, and like the bronzers, it has a really nice look and finish to it!
Ambient Lighting Edit Palette
I haven't used this a ton yet, and I keep debating if I should return it, but I love the travel friendly size and all the options. Plus, it is just so pretty to look at! I like having the Diffused Powder in there, and the other shade of bronzer - I brought this on a weekend trip and thought it was perfect! I've yet to try Dim Light or the Iridescent Strobe Light, so I'd love to know how you use those shades. :)
Though I'm not completely raving over every product in the range, I can see why the Hourglass Ambient collection has been so hyped up since it's release. Sometimes I feel like my friend Gummy, who has repeatedly bought, returned, loved, and fallen out of love with these powders over the last few years. On the other hand, Sabrina over at The Beauty Look Book has about a zillion super extensive and helpful posts on the range that I just drool over.
What do you think about Hourglass Ambient Powders? Have you tried the new Strobe Lighting Powder yet? Do you love these powders, or are you over the hype? I'd love to know! :)
