Glossier launched to so much hype a few years ago, and for whatever reason, I never bit the bullet to purchase any of their products. Then the Milky Jelly Cleanser got so many rave reviews, and a referral code was tempting... And here we are, I now have the phase 1 AND phase 2 sets in my collection.
It took me a while to really use any of these products extensively, but I've finally tried them all. There's so many reviews out there at this point too, but there are a few things I'm liking a lot that I think are worth sharing.
First off, I love everything about the packaging. Like OMG stickers, tote bag, cute pink bubble wrapy zipper bag, cute details in the shipping box... I just can't even. I don't even want to put the stickers on anything for fear of running out!
But you didn't come here to hear me die over packaging (or did you??), so I'll start with the product I am loving the most!
Milky Jelly Cleanser
Reminiscent of the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and Nude Omega Cleansing Jelly, this one has a light rose scent and the same jelly like feel. This one can be applied to damp or dry skin (yay for me!), and washes off so cleanly without needing a cloth. More so than the others!! While that may be a big plus for me, it may not be as important for you, but I will say that this cleanser has been getting along with my skin quite well. I also seriously love the affordable price tag ($18! )and how easily I can get it here in the US. It has been YEARS since I loved a cleanser under $20 and my wallet is happy. Hey, my face is too!
Perfecting Skin Tint
Fans of lighter coverage bases will love this sheer tint that looks so natural on the skin. I'm impressed by how skin-like it looks, actually. I have been reaching for products with more coverage lately though, so this one is not getting that much love. In comparison to other favorites of mine, I would rate this as having slightly more sheer coverage than Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and notably lighter coverage compared to my much loved Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation.
Balm Dotcom
This guy is so thick it's almost hard to squeeze, but not really. This flavorless, scent free balm is totally the bombdotcom. Yeah, I went there. I am actually surprised at how much I love it! It reminds me of a non-sticky version of the cult classic, Smith's Rosebud Salve that I used to love. It's great on my dry lips, but I also appreciate how it is not sticky and I can put it on my hands too if they're not looking so hot.
Priming Moisturizer
I've had a tough relationship with moisturizers lately due to my skin being strangely reactive to life. (LOL) Intended to plump the skin and minimize the appearance of pores, this moisturizer also has anti-redness properties to soothe the skin. So far, I've found that my Tatcha SPF does a better job soothing my redness issues, but this one does a perfectly good job with hydration at a fraction of the price. I also have to point out that I love the packaging - yay not having to stick my fingers in a jar!
All in all, Glossier appears to be a pretty solid brand with relatively affordable products. I'm glad I finally got around to trying it, and I think I'll continue to be a fan of some of the products. Have you tried Glossier yet? What are your favorites? I'd love to know!
